When you hear pelvic floor, do you immediately start doing those kegle exercises that have become almost automatic. Well today on the show we have a pelvic floor expert talking to us all about other resources to help us tap into our pelvic floor health that does not require us to imaging pulling our pelvic floor up like an elevator (we all have heard that cue 🤣).
Keeley Smith has been working as a physio for over 20 years. She loves being active and has enjoyed everything from swimming, rowing, dance and horseback riding to Cross Fit and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Keeley's own experience with pelvic floor injuries has helped her understand the work and patience it takes to get back to feeling like yourself and doing what you used to do. And the fear of making it worse! Her exercise prescriptions, hands on work, and acupuncture techniques provide an efficient program to get you back to health.
In this episode we chat about:
Hypopressives and how we can learn to train the automatic function of our pelvic floor
How the work of hypopressives helps with pelvic floor health including helping with struggles such as painful sex, endometriosis, painful periods, perineal tears, and trauma to the pelvic floor
How tailbone issues can be cared for with hypropressives and Mayan Abdominal Massage
And finally why every women needs to know about these tools
