Honouring You - Inspired Living through Connection to your Feminine Essence
I am not sure about you, but I know for myself I was not raised with much positive information around being a bleeding woman. No one taught me what chemically was shifting in my body, how my body operated cyclically, and how each phase had both a shadow side as well as a gift.
In fact up until a few years ago, I really only saw my menstrual cycle as a dreaded monthly event. I was made to believe that PMS was normal, that bleeding was shameful, and that to be accepted was to exist in my ovulation energy all month long - no exceptions.
I remember sitting in a little cafe one snowy night at 7 pm waiting to listen to a guest speaker on how to eat according to your cycle. I had no idea what I was going to learn, but my interest peaked. As I sat there and listened to this nutritionist talk about food and how our body needs different nutrients at 4 different stages in our monthly cycle, it was like all these aha moments started coming to me. It was at this moment that my world and how I saw myself in it shifted.
How I honoured my body on my yoga mat, how I scheduled my work, even how I showed up as a parent all shifted. I dove deep into understanding my unique rhythm and what I needed so that I could flow from season to season in my cycle with more awareness and purposely designed my month to align with the shifts in my menstrual cycle.
This has been my journey to new self-discovery. It has taught me that I am not just a woman who bleeds once a month, but rather I am cyclical!
I have shifting needs and as I align to the wisdom of my womb, I grow, I soften and show up more inspired in my life.
I live life unapologetically because I live connected to my body and my feminine essence.
I invite you to get curious about your own body. Listen to its rhythm. Allow yourself permission to shift and change each week like nature shifts and changes each season. You cannot grow strong roots in our life if you do not allow ourselves to be nourished for next level growth. So feel into your inner winter of menstruation, the growth of your spring in your days after bleeding, the full bloom of your summer during ovulation, and the gentle turn down of your inner fall as you await for your cycle to begin again.
Embrace being YOU in all forms of You.
